International Peace
The Way to Happiness is a tool to create decency and trust amongst men — thus it is a major resource to forward peace efforts wherever conflict and violence arises. The Way to Happiness offers hope and a common sense guide for a better life without war and violence. In 1993, eight hundred thousand copies of The Way to Happiness were distributed in South Africa as part of a peace campaign, to ease the country's transition to a new government at the end of the apartheid era.
Promoting Peace and Anti-Violence
Most
conflicts are usually a complex tangle of clashing economic and
political pursuits. Cultural, ethnic, religious and language differences
can complicate the matter. And, of course, violence and injustices
committed by either side can move a situation to a nearly unsolvable
crisis. With each retaliation the crisis worsens. The men of reason
and goodwill become fewer and fewer. Their work to resolve the
conflict becomes nearly impossible.
In order to resolve a conflict the parties involved must be able to find points of agreement. This is not always easy to do. Whether a domestic, business or international conflict the parties involved are usually only interested in gaining agreement on what has been done to them!
Yet the vast majority of people are well intentioned. So how can they rise above the baser impulses at play in any such conflict and work effectively towards a solution?
Gaining Agreement Among Parties in Conflict The Way to Happiness contains 21 values (precepts) that well-intentioned people can recognize as simple, basic truths. These truths can form the basis of agreement between any parties involved in conflict. These truths offend no one. The truths contained in The Way to Happiness have appeared among races and cultures throughout history. Philosophers from ancient to modern times have spoken and written about them. The Way To Happiness is appropriate to any culture, by people of any religious background (or none) and in any private, public or governmental organization.
In Rwanda, Congo, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania The Way to Happiness is taking off. Currently there are over 375,000 people who have received a The Way to Happiness seminar or lecture. There are over 1500 people who have enrolled on The Way to Happiness Extension Course, with five hundred of those already having graduated.

Hebrew Booklet

Arabic Booklet
Middle East Distribution in Arabic & Hebrew: In response to continued conflict in the Middle East, and the very real possibility of that conflict exploding into a much larger and serious war, The Way to Happiness was distributed for the first time. Volunteers worked around the clock to get the Arabic translation completed and published in record time. With the help of , an initial 20,000 Arabic the Association for Peace and Understanding in the Middle East copies were distributed to schools, in neighborhoods and through the newspaper. An additional 120,000 copies in Hebrew were distributed in Israel to help forward the message of peace and tolerance. This was followed recently by 50,000 Arabic and 50,000 Hebrew books being distributed.
The Way to Happiness Paves the Way to a Better Life in Europe 300,000 copes of The Way to Happiness were translated and distributed in Kosovo, Croatia, Albania, Macedonia, Bosnia and Hungary.
Volunteers distributed The Way to Happiness by tractor, motorcycle and on foot to merchants, homes and schools in Kosovo. Pictured here are Kosovo students showing their copies of The Way to Happiness.
The Way to Happiness can bring reason back to any situation. Men of reason can then sort out and resolve their conflicts through direct communication. In the case where there is a hidden party promoting the conflict, this must be looked for, recognized, and be made part of the resolution. "After all that we have been through, I see The Way to Happiness as a way of hope for a better future for everyone. This book is valuable for difficult cities, and especially for those areas which are destroyed totally, and where people are suffering the losses of war. If all of us would have had a chance to read this book before, maybe this would not have happened. Now, with our new-won freedom we have the chance to read this book and create an new country." — Dr. Valton Begiri Dean of Faculty of Music Sciences Prishtine Kosovo I am writing you to confirm that I have received the wonderful
book The Way to Happiness. Please accept my most
sincere gratitude for that. While reading it I found it
as one of the most moving and touching ways to speak about
life and the horrible senselessness of the war. My suggestion
would be to print as many copies of the book as possible
in all languages and distribute it to the widest groups
of people all over the world. "This little book is a moral and ethical miracle that we will drop in the middle of our society hoping that its message is transmitted to all social layers and every corner of our homeland. It is not a religious or political message but it is a universal message. In all parts of our country we find passions, selfishness and ambitions tending to take us away from The Way to Happiness. If Colombia applied the teachings of this book, it will become another peaceful, honest and respectful country. And we wouldn't be fighting this bloody war." —H.O., Former Minister of the Interior Republic of Colombia Thank you from the bottom of my heart for a wonderful book, The Way to Happiness... All my friends and I [have] looked over it and read it over and over again with great pleasure. It is a beautiful edition and it presents valuable information about how to make our life happier. The messages in the publication are even more important to us, citizens of the former USSR, due to the very difficult period of our life that we are experiencing now. Your book gives us hope for a better future — and that is its main advantage." — V.A., Glotov State Academic Markinsy Theatre, St. Petersburg, Russia "We highly appreciate your efforts to promote basic values of goodwill and peace, and in particular your interest in Latvia. This is most important for Latvia to find its way to happiness, and your ideas could be very useful for our nation. It should be an opportunity for every individual in our country to have an access to The Way to Happiness booklet in Latvian." — Riga, Latvia |
