Business Success with The Way to Happiness Book

Participating with The Way to Happiness has been most rewarding to me. I have thoroughly enjoyed hearing my patients' favorable responses. Many have personally thanked me for The Way to Happiness booklet and were pleased to get another to pass it onto to friends.

I encourage anyone considering participating in The Way to Happiness program to do so. The more people who have access to this booklet, the better our society will be.
— M.S., D.D.S.

The "Set a Good Example Contest" and The Way to Happiness booklet have been incorporated into my dental practice and our community for three years. During that period our practice and production have trebled in size.

By promoting the "Set a Good Example Contest", not only are we helping children, but also our office attracts people that agree with the concepts in The Way to Happiness booklet.

In my opinion the "Set a Good Example Contest" and The Way to Happiness booklet have not only helped the children in our community, but have given our office the image of an honest, responsible practice.
— R.S., DMD

I have sponsored the "Set a Good Example Contest" since May 1995. The reward for the time, money and effort I have put into it has been the personal satisfaction of forwarding a project that works and produces a definite, definable, positive result.

I've had the good fortune of perceiving many others associated with this program here in Fresno leading happier, more stable lives and then undertaking to assist in improving the quality of life for those around them. This campaign based on The Way to Happiness booklet is a light simple touch with positive yet powerful effects.
— L.S., DPM

It was very interesting to see representation of small-town Middle America and that it has the same problems as our big cities. The contest creates an opportunity that, no matter how small an effort, everyone can have an effect on over-coming drugs at the local level.
— T. H. - corporate vice president

The Way to Happiness booklet was, and is, the main reason I have a very successful Loss Ratio, and that means that my clients as a group are doing much better. As a result of this success, I have made the booklet the foundation upon which my agency expansion is based. It is now given to individuals interviewing for a job with the agency and I give it to other agents and associates. I highly recommend its use in business.
— D.N., Insurance Agent Los Angeles, California

My brothers and I have been active participants and sponsors in the American "Set a Good Example Contest" which is based on the book The Way to Happiness for the past several years. It's been good for our business because it positions us on the right side of the fight against drugs and raises our standing and respect among business associates because of our active participation.

The purpose of the campaign and results are very important to us, since we are directly concerned with building a saner and happier environment for our kids to grow up in. We hope that our active involvement in the campaign has inspired other businesses to do the same.
— J. F., Palo Alto, CA

Your contest is a perfect vehicle to instill strong moral values in kids. Through this contest youngsters are given an opportunity to participate in the discussion of some of the most important issues and problems in today's society and are acknowledged and awarded for initiating practical solutions. It is a joy and honor to be part of such a vital effort to rebuild trust and honesty and a greater sense of responsibility throughout the community.

Per your suggestion we are giving The Way to Happiness to each of our customers upon completing our service work on their home. Following are some of the responses.

Recently one of our customers took the time to call and commend us on our fine work spreading The Way to Happiness. She said she was reading it to her children.

I had a chiropractor that ordered one thousand copies to distribute to her clients.

Last week a customer called our office requesting more copies to leave in his dental practice office.

As you can see it is spreading like wildfire.

— T. C., Area Coordinator St. Paul, MN

We have found that the booklet is an excellent tool for improving personnel relations, customer relations and personnel morale... Our staff frequently refer to The Way to Happiness booklet when confronted with problems they don't quite know how to handle. We are so pleased with the booklet that we have begun to hand out copies to our customers.
— M.B. - Nutritional Center Hollywood, CA

We frequently refer our employees to the booklet to help them work out personnel problems. Frankly, the booklet is a contributing factor to our success. (We're opening our fourth new branch office...)
— R. S. - Executive Training Officer Burbank, California

While selling rugs on the roadside recently for a company called "Magic Carpets", I gave a copy of The Way to Happiness to the owner of the property I was selling on. The next day he came back and asked for 7 more copies of the booklets. He wanted to give them to specific friends and business associates. I thanked him for letting us use his property to sell rugs on and especially for offering to let us sell there Sunday rent free. He emphatically held up the extra copies of The Way to Happiness I had just given to him and said, "That's a small price to pay for this!"

My ethics level was not good. I had certain morals of my own which put me out-ethics. Now I have a higher standard thanks to the training I've had here at LDS. Now I am out to produce products, which are valid to the ideals of the group. - O.L.

Yes, my ethics are definitely in. I guess I have grown and my awareness is higher. - W.B.

If everyone has the urge for existence and everyone tries to understand the importance of right and good, there will be a harmonious society with a high level of production all around. I am producing more valid products even in my [own] business as well. - U.S.

In the past, I have done my share of thievery, drinking, lying and general out-ethics things. Although I was nowhere near as bad as other people around me, I was definitely not improving my chances of survival. I have always had some pride in what I do but I never really tried to go "above and beyond". My exchange with my employers, teachers, family and friends was "fair to partial" for the most part. Now I attempt to keep the condition of exchange "in" with everything I do. I set a higher standard for myself and those around me. Certain friends I once had, I would definitely not associate with now. I actually see things around me I didn't before and my awareness of what is right and wrong forces me to lead a straighter path through life. My products at work are much improved. - N.I.

My ethics level is high. I do have a high standard for myself and, yes, I do produce more valid work products than before. - S.T.

My ethics level is higher now. I expect more from myself in being honest no matter what. I can't really say I was always like this. It bothers me when others are unethical, and I try to stay away from them. - C.H.

My ethics level before I came I didn't even know what it was. Now I understand the different levels of ethics and it has helped me at work and in my personal life. -A.S.

In the past, I was about the same level of ethics as my past friends. Now I believe I am the most ethical individual compared to my friends not working here at — LDS. O.L.

I want to let you know how our Cause Related Marketing with The Way to Happiness Foundation International Program worked out.

We started the program in 1997 with very strong results, selling well in excess of 400 new clients a day in our pilot program. The program expanded out of the pilot and onto a full-fledged section on our Sales Organizing board. The co-marketing or selling of our long distance service tied to the customer's participation with The Way to Happiness expanded faster and with more results than any marketing program in the history of [our company].
— R. B., CEO

I'm writing this letter to you to express my views on the use of The Way to Happiness booklet in the workplace.

Because of the remarkable success in applying it, the staff has overwhelmingly voted to adopt The Way to Happiness as the official moral code. For that reason, the booklet is included in our Company Handbook and studied by the entire staff.

Thank you for all the work you have done to make this possible.

— C. J. - Chairman and CEO

I can incorporate the precepts in The Way to Happiness into my work. To incorporate these precepts is to propel myself, as well as others, into becoming improved, happier employees; to flourish and prosper. These precepts start with me. I need to take care of me. If I'm ill or drugged, I wouldn't be able to function properly. I need to be industrious and competent. I should always try not to do things to others that I would not like them to do to me. This means raising my voice, being rude or insensitive to co-workers. Doing these precepts creates a great working environment that will help all flourish and prosper. Kathy

At my first reading of The Way to Happiness I was impressed by the simplicity and clarity of the precepts, and the wonderful practicality of the work. The Way to Happiness is a book of common sense that helps steer kids away from a life of drugs and crime, and can restore the traditional values to the society by giving individuals and groups basic principles that promote an understanding of right and wrong.

I would recommend to other businesses and socially concerned individuals, that they join in this campaign.

— T. H., Executive, Glendale, CA.
